"My picture titled “Unbroken” is a piece I created to express how I felt being ill. My health problems felt very much like being tied to a stump. Although the eagles tether remains unbroken, so does his spirit. I will always suffer with my health problems, but my spirit is unbroken. I have met many people who suffer from physical or mental illness, or have a loved one who does. This piece has always been powerful to speek to people in that way, and I think almost anyone has felt limited or restricted by life or circumstance at one time or another, but I hope they can keep there spirit unbroken." Though I continually struggle against the tie,
it may seem that it's stronger than me.
My desire is to be free and to fly,
to reach heights above, and to see.
Though the cord may never break,
to be stronger than it, I must stay.
For my will, if it could, it would take,
and that is a price I wont pay.
Will this struggle be worth this endless fight,
one may think you could never tell.
But victory is not that to break through I might,
but that my spirit is unbroken as well.
